The Microtrenching solution is specially designed to work very well in paved larger city areas. The Microtrenching machine digs a very small groove in the ground, about 60 cm deep, and then feeds a GM Flatliner into the groove.
The GM Plast Microtrenching solution is very gentle to the surrounding nature and housing because only a small groove is dug up and after a completed project, the groove just gets covered back up again. This drastically increases the amount of possible meters per day and means that you are quickly in and out of a project zone.
Mission
“To explore and develop new techniques, on how to
deploy fiber optic networks”.
GM has been working with roll out
techniques in FTTH projects since 2000 and were one of first companies
to experiment with micro duct, micro cables, blowing techniques of micro
pipes and micro cables. GM has developed the Multiduct, direct
buried micro ducts and Flatliner, all with the purpose of increasing the
roll out speed and cut cost of materials and deployment.
Advantages
Up to 500 meters per day. 50-60% lower overall costs. Up to 90% less CO2 emission than traditional methods. Easy, flexible and minimum traffic disruption.
